about me

Hi there, and welcome to my blog!
I’m a busy mom of three school-aged kids, juggling family life and a rewarding teaching career. I work at an urban middle school in Ontario, where I’m deeply involved in special education and reading interventions. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of teaching students from Kindergarten through Grade 8, and for the past six years, I’ve focused on middle school. My teaching journey has also taken me to rural schools, First Nations communities, and even London, England, which has given me a diverse perspective on education.
As an educator, I’ve taught in a variety of settings, including mainstream classrooms with English Language Learners and gifted students, and my current role allows me to work on tailored interventions for students who need extra support in their learning journey. I’m passionate about data-based teaching practices, and I’m always working to improve my approach to reach every student in the best way possible. The more I learn, the more I realize how important it is to keep refining my methods and strategies to meet the unique needs of each child.
I started this blog because, like many of you, I’ve felt overwhelmed by the flood of new pedagogical ideas and theories coming out in professional development. As teachers, we often don’t have the time or energy to sift through it all and find practical, everyday lessons and resources that we can use right away. This blog is my response to that – a space where I share practical resources, teaching tips, and strategies that are designed for busy teachers who don’t have the time to reinvent the wheel.
Whether you’re working with mainstream students, English Language Learners, or students in specialized programs, I hope you’ll find something here that can make your teaching life a little bit easier. I’m still learning and growing, and I invite you to join me on this journey to better support our students, one lesson at a time.
Thanks for stopping by!
